Snack time
So here is a quick fix for us grazers that don't have a lot of time. So you like dips, hummus, seafood dip, WHATEVER. What do you love about chips and dip. You could probably care less about the chips...you want the taste of what you are dipping it in. What about swapping out your potato chips, tortilla chips, pita chips and crackers for (DRUM-ROLL PLEASE) Cucumber slices. It takes no time to slice them up. They don't need peeled. My fave is cucumber slices and hummus. It will save you a few calories and give a little added fiber. Plus cucumbers are an anti-inflammatory food (I will totally get into that in my blog later). I even have my guys at work loving it. You quickly get used to the lack of salty taste of the cucumber but it will make the flavor of your dip seem even more exciting.

Great article, especially the insight that the dip will be more flavorful because the cucumber slices are not salty.
ReplyDeleteDo you dip them as is, or can you cook or bake the cucumber slices until they are hard and brittle, like a chip?
